I purchased a cheap kdx while ago and it had a “modified” cdi. Basically you could manually change the ignition curve. I bought an used original CDI unit and installed it today. The bike starts from the 1st kick but can’t rev it. It feels like clogged and smokes too much. My guess is that the ignition timing is not right. I think it has faulthy hall sensor in the generator, so previous owner didn’t replace/repaired it and somehow made this modified cdi with manual adjusting. It did run ok with it but i wanted to check how it is with the OEM CDI. So my question is can the magnet be repaired or I should buy a new one? Or there is some other problem ?
