220 - what plug?

Ok, I know it is an easy one, believe me I have searched the site looking for an answer before bothering anyone with this post. I have just removed the snorkel and drilled the air box lid, took plug out for a look (not had a chance to try and jet it yet as no space to ride the bike open yet) and not sure if it is the correct plug. I have a 99 220 and it is fitted with an NGK BR9EG, seems to need the choke on for too long but want to get the right plug in it first. What plug should it have?

Thanks Mike, makes some sense, the 9 fitted will br running cooler so will see if fitting an 8 improves things.

Your turned around Ryan... a 8 is hotter than a 9.

Not if the '9' is run through a convection oven first! Bet'cha didn't think of THAT, huh?

Spec is an '8'. An '8' is the correct heat-range plug. An 'ES' is OEM. An 'ES' is OK. An 'EG' is better. Plenty better actually. Anything else (EVX/whatever etc.) is a waste of money imo.

..which also hapens to be a correct opinion, btw.
