Hi all,
I'm still working om my 1987 kdx200 and I'm putting the clutch on and I'm confused on how the clutch springs are supposed to be put on. I've heard to just hand tighten them or to tighten them all the way down. Is thetr a way to properly do this?
If it helps the clutch is a KX125D-A201

The proper way is to refer to the service manual for the torque spec. On the later (E/H/220s0 its only 78 in/lbs, the early KLX250/300 its 29 in/lbs. So more than finger tight, less than all the way down. I don't have the service manual for an 87, perhaps someone here who does can get the correct value for you.

I've looked all over and the only way for me to get a service manual is to buy one and I have to save up for parts so I can't get one. If someone does have one that would be great

EDIT:
4 Newton-meters is the torque value in the 1986 manual.

Send them an offer. If you honestly can't afford $12 or so for a manual, then it's time to change hobbies. Sorry to be brutally honest, but buying a manual is the best money you can spend on one of these lime green, smile making machines.
