KDX seat part number

Post by Beagle »

Hi Guys,

Just wondering if someone could help me out with this question, I bought a second-hand seat for my KDX 200 1997, it doesn't seem to fit correctly at the tank (sticks out not flush against it), but the bolt holes match up, the part number stamped underneath is 53001-1745-PP, I have searched everywhere and can't seem to locate it. I contacted Kawasaki in Australia and they can't find it in their database or Japan's.

Just wondering if any of you guys know what this would of come off? The seat is black with Kawasaki in white.

Thanks.

53001-1745 is the seat p/n, usually the letters designate a color code. LW is violet, mw is black, not sure what pp is, but that is for a US spec H/A model. Not sure down under

Is your bike an AUS bike?

Does your bike currently or originally have a metal gasoline tank in combination with a separate oil tank?

I am thinking your bike originally had a metal tank and you have bought a seat for a plastic tank KDX (or vice versa).

Look on the head tube and post your VIN or engine number, please. Thank you.

OK, so after some deeper thought:

I think you have a "J" series, so maybe you have an H series seat?

In the USA, they never sold a "J".

Any chance you have a bent sub frame? If yes, that could throw the bolt holes off.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your replies. I believe the bike is KDX200-J1 1997 Australian designation that was what Kawasaki Australia told me, the bike has a plastic tank and is pre-mix, the bolt holes match up it just sits back off the tank and not flush against the shrouds and side covers, ill post some pictures of the seat on the bike.

VIN: JKADXNJ16VA000078

I appreciate your help guys, thanks.

Man! 000078. You got in early. :-)

See if there is a metal post on the tank that latches to a slot on the seat. I know my 1994 has that. I can't even remember about 1995+. I assume so.
