Have just about finished rebuild on KDX 250 19 83 Australian model. New bearings ,seals cylinder replate piston etc.Hoping its all going to work nicely.
Had a couple of issues and have got a new mikuni carb which has slightly different float ,jets etc. it is set up for a 1979 KX 250 so I am hoping that will be a reasonable starting point for jetting. Also had to shorten the intake (Stuffed rags in carb and used a hacksaw) but otherwise fits OK.
on reassembly noticed the Kick spring hole has been "repaired" with epoxy and also the spring needs replacement. Anyone know of a source for these springs? They seem pretty unavailable. I am considering spending around $100 Australian to buy a second hand kick shaft assembly that has a ok looking spring. Appreciate if anyone knows of a source for replacement springs.

Wow. Please post some pics if you can. Look up the part number, some of those early 80's KDX parts fit a previous year or two KX.
