Shock spring
Hi
I know next to nothing about suspension other than how to use clickers and adjusters. Is there a way I can easily tell which weight shock spring is on my KDX?
Cheers

Re: Shock spring
If it's not printed on the spring the only way I know if is with a spring tester.

Re: Shock spring
Have you set the sag? Are your numbers off?
If it is not labelled, then you can measure coils, thickness of coils, height to follow the formula, but that is not real accurate. A suspension shop should have a rate tester to test the stiffness.

Re: Shock spring
Thanks guys, I'll take a closer look but pretty sure some of the paint has worn off so can't identify the number. I have not set my sag.

If sag checks out good then at least you know it's right for you.

Re: Shock spring
Thanks mate.
My upper shock bearing looks toast. I am assuming this is a bearing? On the parts diagram it just looks like "bushing". I was going to just order a tusk kit and assumed if it it says fits lower shock bearing it would also fit the upper shock bearing? I am already getting a pivot works linkage kit which includes the lower shock bearing so just need the upper one.

Re: Shock spring
Sorry to not respond sooner.
There was a tornado.
The top part is a bushing.

Re: Shock spring
Haha bugger - ordered a shock bearing kit. I will save it for when the new one in the linkage kit goes toast. All good. Hope all OK in AL.
Why did they not put a bearing up there? I usually thought that was something that required a bearing. Mine looks pretty bad...

Re: Shock spring
Thanks. We are cleaning up, trying to move on.
That smallest bearing does not last super long sometimes, so keep an eye on it.
