Is this the correct carby
Bought a 92 KDX 250 and it keeps flooding. The jets were far too big,160 and 55 so I ordered replacements,152 and 42 as per the manual and a repair kit.The parts in the kit are different to the ones in the carby. The slide is different and the spring is a larger diameter.I have a genuine Kawasaki manual and it says I should have a Keihin PWK38.I can't see that written anywhere on the carby, can anyone please tell me if it is the correct carby or if not is it okay to use, cheers. The slide picture is what came in the kit and is the type shown in the manual

Re: Is this the correct carby
That's a PJ carb. They made them in 34-38mm. Measure the opening of the carb on the reed side. That'll give you the size of the carb in mm. I think the PJ and PWK take the same jets. Look up the jets for both on Jets R Us and compare part numbers. Besides saying PJ on it you could always tell a PJ apart because there's no idle screw. You rotate the choke knob to raise and lower the idle. It should work fine if it's not worn out. I had a PE 34 on my KDX220 for a day to test it out. The cable situation wasn't ideal. I had to adjust it all the way out on the carb and throttle side and there was still a little too much free play. It worked really good and was 30 years old. Correct float height, a new float valve, and a clean float valve seat is your best starting point.
