Looking to get an idea of what Ron charges $ for his head mod. Website doesn’t quote the retail price.
I’m aware of the benefits of a reworked squish & compression modified cyl head, bottom row pic are various cc cyl heads with cc etched into them 24, 25, 18, 23 for a 70mm big bore. What works engine mod wise on the bottom of pikes peak doesn’t work as well at the top & visa versa.
Thanks the info

Re: RB cyl head
He charges about $75 and only works on unmolested heads.

Re: RB cyl head
I think someone said in another thread that he is only doing KDX220R heads now.

Re: RB cyl head
There is nothing magical about the head mod.
The key is to get the squish bad down in dimension and know what you are looking for in total head volume. Ron probably has more experience with the KDX than others and he would be my first choice but there are several builders who can do the squish band mod.
Arnie Cooper did my 250X and did a great job with adjusting the head volume. He can be contacted at: arniecoo@q.com
Ken O'Connor racing also does head mods and is a little less expensive. http://kenoconnorracing.com/
I've e mailed both these guys and they were both helpful.
The key is to measure your squish, and have an idea whether you want the same head volume, before you send it to them.

Re: RB cyl head
On a bike like the kdx I’d rather not have to run race gas. Getting VP100 at the pump $7.99 a gallon, or VP C12 running $78 for a 5 gal can isn’t the plan, I’ve got atvs like that. I doubt that I’ll find the right yr kdx that’s street legal but being able to ride to a local gas station would be ideal.

Note: Ron states on his website and confirmed to me via email, you do NOT need to do the solder test for the 220. He just needs your stock, unmodified head.

Re: RB cyl head
With some previous knowledge like on a trx250r/lt500r I’m able to determine if a cyl head has been modified. This kdx def sounds like it running pretty crisp after mods.
