KDX200 kill switch

Post by DeKay »

Hi All I have an issue where my kill switch stopped working as in you push the button but it doesn't stop the bike. I am an electrician and have belled out the cable and the switch still works fine could it be the input to the CDI unit? anyone else had this problem where the kill button is still working fine but not stopping the bike. regards

Doubly check your connections from the kill switch to the CDI. It's also good idea to check your ground connections while you're in there.

+1 IMO, most likely cause is loss of connection from kill switch to ground.

:prayer: Thanks I stripped down the bike and did find some damage wiring looks like it has been eaten by rats would you believe. The bike is stored in a lean too so be aware of rats eating your wires i will bait them this winter. I repair the wires and kill switch works fine now. Thanks for your quick response and help this forum is awesome.https

I am glad you got it figured out. Mice and rats are no good for dirt bikes!

Happy it was an easy, and cheap, fix.
