Fork spring clip washer?

Post by EzLivn »

I’m missing one. It’s not listed in the fiche either. Is there a name for this or a source for purchase?

Oops.

You are correct. It is not on the microfiche, unfortunately.

I would suggest just using a normal washer. I have opened about 10 sets of other forks of mine that do not have that type of washer in their design.

I believe that is p/n 44028-1010 Guide, Fork Spring. I have seen some that look like that, and some that look like a washer with a little tube extension on one side. A regular washer will work as well.

bufftester / EzLvin, 44028-1010 is not it, actually. The one pictured is a 1995+ special washer.

44028-1010 is a C or E washer I think:

KDXgarage you are correct. That part must be either be included/attached with new spring or is simply not available. Looks like I’ll have to improvise. Me thinks it must be there for a good reason🤷🏻‍♂️

I am not sure what that kind of washer is called (the one that has the raised portion, not the one with the tabs). When I was fooling with them, I just called it a tophat washer. It did keep the washer located well.

Over the years, a couple of other people on here have lost it or wanted another one. I remember an old thread or two.
