I have used H1R, Maxima K2, and Mobil MX2T (when I could find it). Of those three brands, MX2T smoked much less than the others for a given premix ratio.

I can't find MX2T anymore and the K2 smokes quite a bit (155/45/1174-2nd from top/stock PWK, 50:1 93octane pump gas).

Any recommendations for premix that smokes less?

AUTOZONE has the Mobil 1 MX2T, just ask at the counter. My local store keeps it in the back????

Go to the "Online Store" and select "Two Cycle Motor Oils", drop down the list and choose "AIT Interceptor Synthetic 2-Cycle Oil"


Interceptor, Full synthetic and comes in gallons if you wish. Great stuff!

Inda, thanks for the tip, I'm willing to try this. Interceptor info says it is also suitable for injector systems...that means I can run it in my kids' PW50, right? (2T but oil is in its own tank with an injector pump.)

Yeah... it is good for any 2 stroke application I can think of. Smoke is almost nil with this stuff. Power valves stay very very clean too!
The only thing it doesn't do that I wish it did was smell like bean oil!

Im running Interceptor at 50:1 in my KDX and in the PW80. I would recommend disconnecting the oil imjector and running straight pre-mix from the tank. The injector is very unreliable.
Was running Modul "smokeless" prior and the Interceptor smokes much less.

Glad to hear about the low-smoking nature of Interceptor. I've ordered a bottle from Vince's store and will order more, Lord willing, if it works as advertised. Now all I have to do is find a stock pipe and I'm on my way.
