Transmission shift lever adjustment
What’s the trick to adjusting the lever? I unscrewed the bottom bolt, pryed the coupler and hammered lightly to no avail. Is it a bad idea to spray wd40?

Remove it and then replace in your required position.

Re: Transmission shift lever adjustment
Some lube would not hurt.
Are you able to see any gap when prying it apart?

Re: Transmission shift lever adjustment
Take the bolt all the way out or you risk damaging the knurling on the shift shaft. Then hit it with some penetrating oil and it should come off fairly easily. With the bolt out you can pry open the clamp easily far enough to get it off.

Re: Transmission shift lever adjustment
Careful spreading the “jaws” too much. You can crack the clamp right at the weld. No reliable repair for that.

Transmission shift lever adjustment
I was able to get it with lots of penetrating lube and patience. I can now feel comfortable with my new fly boots! Thank you very much!

Re: Transmission shift lever adjustment
Did you have boots before?
I was wondering why one would change the position.

Re: Transmission shift lever adjustment
That is what I started thinking. You have to ride differently with boots on. It takes some getting used to.
