brake hoses replacement
IMO, not so much a question of leakage or total failure, but actual braking action. If the hose is bulging out a little bit as pressure is applied, the braking action may be a little mushy.
For this reason, braided stainless steel brake lines are often advised.

brake hoses replacement
I have never replaced a brake line unless I notice an issue with it like bulging or excessive wear.

fyi nylon can wear to the inside and block flow without any indication of wear or physically looking effects. Making the caliper stick on or hang.
They are not made to last forever although most do. However they will break down in composition over time and contaminate the fluid. A general rule of thumb I follow is if its alright but over ten years old change it anyways.

If you cant fix it with a hammer, you have an electrical problem.
