The copper C R U S H gasket??

The one that when new is somewhat thick, but gets crushed during installation?

A hook tool can be used to remove the old one. Take a picture of the new one. It will never be the same after use.

I also use a hook type tool.
If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

In a pinch take a junk fork and snap off all but one prong then bend the tip over to make a pick.

thanks guys, I have a little problem, now that the new copper crush ring is in my pipe won't go as far back as when the flat sat in there..will it become flatter over time, or should I pound the pipe backwards with a rubber hammer?? I can see that my muffler won't close into the pipe as much as before. 2.3 mm maybe. am I overthinking this?
