Sourcing a spare cylinder and sending it for a replate is going to be costly. If yours is in good shape currently, it is probably an unnecessary expense. Short of a catastrophic failure, you are unlikely to ever need a new cylinder. These threads may give you some good ideas for mods / maintenance that may be money better spent. Your call, though.

thanks for the reply Julien! believe it or not I have looked tru those treads before, good stuff! but seriously like you said , there is a possibilty that I never have to replace the cylinder?? I hope thats true, I can tell that this bike is tough bike already

Suspension, suspension, suspension! There is not one single area on a bike that can make a bike feel just right, or like a complete death trap, as much as suspension. Do whatever it takes to get it set up for your weight and riding style. Just an FYI, the faster you ride the less you'll like the factory KDX forks no matter what you do to them.

well I don't ride any hard core enduro, big drop offs or that kinda thing, it handles very good, quick steering. when I get to the speeds that the fork might not like, I will switch to my mx bike. for 1,and 2 gear trails the kdx fork works just fine

Setting up your suspension isn't about going fast necessarily. It's about the bike handling properly within it's intended purpose. Even in 1st/2nd gear riding the KDX suspension can be improved leading to more control and less fatigue which means a safer ride.

Ok, replate. However, the odds of you ever needing another cylinder is pretty slim. If yours were to ever wear out just send it in for replating. I've even seen cylinders on some vintage MX bikes that were seriously damaged from catastrophic failure yet saved by Millennium Tech or another quality replater. As always, it's your money so do what you want!
