Do you have a local dealer? If not, look for an online parts dealer. Almost all have online parts diagrams.

Silicone is eaten by gasoline, so not if it is made of silicone.

Please don't. Carbs have many tiny passages that sealant could get in to and turn your carb in to a nightmare.martynheath wrote:Cheers guys i will continue the hunt. Could liquid seal do the trick in worst case?

Re: keihin float bowl gasket
ok i will scrap that idea then :). Ok having looked at the carb today i want to run my options by you. So the carb has been leaking, from the float bowl gasket hence the post. Today i noticed that the petcock shut off is still dripping fuel (took float bowl off yesterday, this morning contents of my tank on the floor). Ive read today that it shouldnt matter tho as long as your carbs working correcting as the needle valve will stop the fuel.
So what started as i will replace the gasket, i am thinking shall i get a carb kit and replace everything, needle valve, new float and gaskets? Could it be the needle valve causing these problems and simply replacing the gasket is a waste of time. What would you do??
thanks

Re: keihin float bowl gasket
Is it dripping from the over flow tube?
You may have two problems, petcock and float valve. Take the carb off and look at the float valve. I'd the rubber tip is bad, it won't seal.

Re: keihin float bowl gasket
Hi, i doesnt seem to be coming out of the overflow tube, just around the float bowl seal. Im going to order the kit and replace all parts in the carb. With regards to the petcock, as its not leaking from the actual tap, it just wont shut off fully, im guessing a repair kit is pointless? better off replacing the whole petcock.
Thanks again for the replies

Re: keihin float bowl gasket
I had good luck with a petcock rebuild kit. It's been in the bike for several years.

Re: keihin float bowl gasket
You really need to find an online parts diagram and see what is inside the petcock.
Your bike might be an SR version or not. Hard for us to tell.
