KDX200 1990 Australian rear rim

Post by McGoff »

Hi new to the forum and KDX's
I have just picked up a 1990 KDX200 here in Sydney (I think it is an SP as it has the oil pump and full lights and indicators etc.)
I'm trying to get it registered and back on the road so I can use it in our State forests
So I need DOT tyres
When I was checking the tyres that it came with I found it has a 19" rear rim (tyre is a 110/90 19)
I didn't think KDX's came with 19" rims, So has anyone got any Idea what the rear wheel might be off (KX or something else)

thanks
Keith

Welcome to kdxrider.

In the USA, no KDX's came with a 19" rear wheel. Look on some online sites for parts and see if you can see your model.

They don't show an "SR" model, just KDX. Tire is 18".

Can you post a frame number / VIN and engine number?

Thanks, and welcome again.

The 19" rear rim was standard on the Australian SR models. I had an 18" rim laced to the hub to make life easier with tyre choice.

However 19" DOT knobby tyres are available in OZ:
