i guys i want to know if the kdx have a drain plug on the cylinder for removing the coolant?? Or you just have to remove the drain plug on the water pump and the radiator cap. I have a cr 80 2001 too and on the right side of the cylinder you have a screw for removing coolant in the cylinder but i dont see this on the kdx..

To drain the coolant you pull the drain bolt on the bottom of the water pump. There is a screw on top of the water fitting on the top of the cylinder that is used for bleeding air when refilling.

No, it won't drain every drop of the coolant but like 99% of it. However, for all practical purposes, yes, it will be drained.

Yea, the bottom of the water pump is the lowest point of the coolant system.

There is another plug in the cylinder, right above the pipe outlet... but I don't think that was ever intended to be a drain plug, rather a hole to help remove the core in the casting. The water pump is lower than this though and everything will come out there... no extra plug in the cylinder that needs removed.

Does anyone make a replacement for that cylinder plug(set screw)? I was given a 95 KDX 200 that sat for a few years and that set screw rusted out and is leaking.

If I recall correctly it's a standard metric thread so any bolt that has the same thread and head diameter should work.

The bleed screw on top of the cylinder is an M6 (6mm bolt 10 mm in length) standard metric thread

Do a search on here. Someone figured out the dimensions. It is around 16 mm x 1.5 mm, something like that. I can't remember.

EDIT: Yep...
