Was out riding and the bottom bearing on the rod destroyed its self sending shrapnel through my new top end luckly i can still see the cross hatch in my new plating.
I cant seem to find any aftermarket crank and rod options for our bikes cause in sure mine is toast... Havent taken it apart yet.
Where would be thebest place to get what i need?

when I bought my bike, ( rolling chassie, case split in a milk crate) the crank was missing. I found a used crank on eBay and bought a new rod and bearing kit and had RB designs rebuild it for me, just make sure you buy use right year rod. . . don't ask. lol

I would try to get it all apart and see the actual damage. Then send some photos of the damage (or the actual parts themselves) to someplace like RB Designs or Millennium Technologies and let them tell you if it can be repaired or not (they're the experts after all)

I see that you have a 220... it doesn't have an OEM piston in it, does it? I'm having a hard time visualizing pieces of broken metal (form the cages?) leaving the bearing and ending up in the cylinder. If there is a bunch of "schrapnel", I wonder if it could be from the piston itself. Did you just pull the head off, or did you pull the whole cylinder off? When my OEM piston skirt broke off, it seized the motor up and and sent pieces of aluminum all over the place inside of there.

Sorry to hear it let go.

There is no aftermarket crankshaft.

You can get OEM parts or aftermarket for rebuilding the connecting rod "kit". Are the halves damaged?

The rings are intact. Both the c clips are in the wrist pin and fully seated. Skirt is fine. Dont have pics of the plating. No scratches and the cross hatch is visible

How is the cylinder OK with that much damage to the side of the piston??

Wow, that's pretty nasty. Have a hard time imagining how that could happen and not damage the cylinder.

Theres damage. But i really dont want to fix it... Its disheartning dumping 600 into something that blew up elsewhere and destroyed the work i did. Itll either get pushed into the shed and forgotten about for a while or sold for gun monies...
