cylinder stud removal

Post by KDXSean »

Trying to get the cylinder base studs out to replace.

I've soaked them in penetrating oil for a couple days.

Any problem with applying a little heat with a propane torch to the case area at the stud?

Double nut method is preferred for this task.....

Put one nut on about half way down the stud, then follow that one with another and snug them together. Then use the bottom one to unscrew the stud.

If this is what you are doing and they are not coming out, then yes.... a little heat should help break them loose.
