Parts interchangeability

Post by ImNotARobot »

Hi all
1st post here. I hope to pick up an '89 200 project tomorrow. I want to build a strong little single track machine. I am wondering how readily parts from later models will fit . Like suspension, wheels engine components.
I see a few basket cases advertised and miscellaneous parts and want to know what parts would be an optimal upgrade for my bike.
Cheers
Max

Welcome to the forums.

What country are you from??

In the USA, 1989 - 1994 KDX200 are all very similar. There were a few small changes in those years, but the main one was the upside down fork on the 1993 and 1994. The 1995 - 2006 KDX200 / KDX220R share very few arts that are the same.

There was a box you could have filled in with country info during sign up.

Certain models were available in certain countries. My writing above may not apply to your country or models.
