Advancer shaft alignment

Post by RNL »

When I turn the horizontal actuator shaft fully anticlockwise and put the cam on the advancer shaft it is 1 tooth out of alignment so the sub valves would be slightly open. To get it on the correct alignment I have to rotatate the advancer shaft sightly clockwise with a little resistance against the spring. Is this ok or should there be no need to tweak the advancer shaft. 2006 kdx 200.

The actuator is located on the shaft by a small dimple. You may have a little tension on the shaft to get it in position so the teeth on the actuator and gear align properly.

Thanks for that. Was a bit worried I might have bent the shaft slightly. Didn't realise torque wrench did not work in both directions. Was holding shaft while tightening nut. Fortunately stopped before I broke it.
