kdx cdi E model vs H model timing/stuff?

Post by ohgood »

my parts bike has a E model cdi on it. I'm running a H model 200 cylinder with H model 220 head and H model (220)cdi.

I'm curious if the E model cdi had a better spark curve, timing, stuff, and if my frankenbike would benefit from the E model cdi ?

thanks jaguar, I know you're the man ! ;-)

No clue! However, throw it on there and see if it is any different, good or bad, and report back.

alot of the questions to ask and some answers can be gleaned from this...

DOH! just remembered that's for a H model 200 CDI dunno if the 220 is any different but your welcome to try mine out and see if it's any better.
1997 KDX 200 - FMF pipe and silencer and I have no clue what else yet.
2000 ZRX1100 - 1109 big bore, ZX11 carbs / cams/ double valve springs / igntion box / Kerker exhaust. It's Mad Max black and fast but rarely clean

The above link is to a page on Jaguar's website. I haven't seen him around here lately. IIRC, he's stopped offering his CDI due to lack of sales and interest.

You might try sending him an email direct. His website say's it's <health(at)dragonfly.com>

I would take SS109's advice and just try the E model CDI and see how it works.

Good luck.

I received my Performance CDI from Jaguar today. I'm not sure when I will have time to install it but I will post a review when I get to ride.

Glad to hear Jaguar's CDIs are still available.

In addition to posting your results here, please also provide Jaguar with your feedback. IIRC, he was discouraged with lack of results feedback from customers buying this CDI.

What's up with the 220 head on the 200 cylinder?

the 200 head was pitted, not to terribly, but enough that I questioned if it was safe to trust it. I started polishing down past the pits three other day, but the 220 head was right there and shiny so I used it.

I can't eyeball a difference in them.
