Replacing light with front number plate
Hi i own a 1994 kdx200. I would like to take the front light off and replace it with a normal front number plate. I cannot seem to find a plate that fits my model of bike. Does anyone know a model that fits well with a 94 kdx. Has anyone tried this in the past or have any tips? Thanks

One option is to get 1990 KX250 / KX500 triple clamps and front numberplate. You might be able to get the 90 - 95 plate to fit somehow on the stock clamps, not sure.

Re: Replacing light with front number plate
If you want one that will bolt directly on (don't we all), then there is not one. If you want to cut off this and make a little bracket here and use some zip ties there, then get whatever you want.

Do you guys think i should just go with a regular white colored one ? Im not sure the green would match the shade of the kdx?

depends on where you get it. Are you going to put a number on it?? If so, white would be better.

Re: Replacing light with front number plate
Here's UFO rm250 number plate that i put on my 92 KDX200. I customized some angle aluminum on the bottom with two holes in it for the bottom of the plate to sit in, and used an L bracket on top to connect the top of it. There was a loop to go around the brake line, but it didn't make sense for me so I cut it off.

Re: Replacing light with front number plate
If I remember right, the top bolt for that era plate lines up perfectly with the kdx bolt hole. The lower bolt holes do not, but a couple zip ties around where the number-plate leg covers are (which was common practice on those type of number plates anyways) keeps things secure down there.Jason wrote:One option is to get 1990 KX250 / KX500 triple clamps and front numberplate.
