Does anyone have a clue at how fast a stock 97 kdx 200 will top out at ???

somewere in the 60's. The upper 60's i believe.

Depends on rider weight, wind speed, gearing, fuel, tyres, aerodynamics, road conditions, etc, etc, etc.....
Saying that, I get around (yet to be verified with GPS) 130-140km/h max, revving to the moon, going down a steep hill and nekkid.
Gearing 13-49.

I have the TrailTech computer and have seen 72mph with stock gearing.

I'm guessing high sixtys with 13/50 gearing is close.

I clocked 68 mph on a fireroad with 12/47 gearing, comfirmed with gps. It was plenty fast for dirt bike. I stood up half the time so as to miss the potholes.
My all time best is 164 mph on my ZZR1200, confirmed with radar on a long stretch of road near Wamic Oregon. A friend on his GSXR 1000 turned 172mph 3 times and a guy on his ZX12R did 181 mph during the same session.

I have a stock 93 KDX 200. Just rebuilt the carb with stock jetting. I am 6’1” 250lbs, was able to hit 72mph on a flat gravel old county road. She rips!

Bone stock KDX 200/220 with stock gearing will run 72mph.
