Hybrid ignition

Post by james85kdx80 »

Picked up an 85 kdx 80 missing stator, rotor, and cover. Does anyone know difference in kx vs kdx parts? Bigger kdx has lights so I could understand difference but 80 has no lights or battery. Ignitor box, coil, and engine cover same for both. I see crankshaft and crankcase are different part numbers so is mounting or timing different or can I use kx parts as long as I keep stator and rotor matched?

I am not sure on that, but if you look up the part numbers for the KDX, you may find several years had the same part numbers and can find used parts on eBay.

You can look it up on Partzilla; it will list other bikes that share that part. HTH

Got parts ordered off eBay. Anyone can send me a link or pics on how to time it?
