What exactly do you mean? Pro x rings can only be used one way. One of the rings are tapered.

The piston rings have the letter T marked on them to identify "top"

Will I be able to get away with reusing the gaskets since they were brand new? Or are they bad once compressed

I would use a new head & base gasket ...

The exhaust & reed gasket I would re-use .... Smear a little silicone around the exhaust side & smear a little grease on the reed gasket & you should be good to go.

While the head is off I'd polish the combustion dome to a mirror Finnish & do the same to the exhaust port too. :supz:

Well I put new rings in, the compression is noticeably better when kicking it over but that pesky bog is still there. Actually a little worse now. I will have to go out today and pick up a 48 pilot to try.
