Welcome to the forums. Post a VIN and engine number. Photobucket for pictures.

Just need to check the 10th digit of your VIN to get the bike year/model info. Of course that doesn't guarantee that someone didnt change motors, so the engine number will help there (or a pic). for the VIN 10th digit the decoder is:
A = 1980 B = 1981 C = 1982 D = 1983 E = 1984 F = 1985 G = 1986 H = 1987 J = 1988 K = 1989 L = 1990 M = 1991 N = 1992 P = 1993 R = 1994 S = 1995
T = 1996 V = 1997 W = 1998 X = 1999 Y = 2000 1 = 2001 2 = 2002 3 = 2003 4 = 2004 5 = 2005 6 = 2006 7 = 2007

Without further info, I am thinking 1980 KDX175 or 1981 KDX175.

It is not worth much now, maybe $250?

If you spend a lot of time and money on the bike, you will lose some money. If you skip buying it, you can break even.

Yeah 80-82 lookslike, but with later model fenders bolted on. You will never get it to be worth much even fully restored. Hard to find parts, not a big market.

It's an '81. The '80 had a shorter rear frame section by the seat and an '82 had a double mount for the spark arrestor. I gave $100 for mine and it was in a little better condition.
