Loose gasket material in engine
Suppose you somehow ended up with some paper base gasket material loose inside the engine (I'm not sure how it happened but it was obviously me who did it). What would you do to clean it out?

Re: Loose gasket material in engine
in the transmission or the crank area?
if in the crank area, that isn't good and need to tear it down
if in tranny, the paper most likely will get torn up and pulverized

Has the engine run since the paper fell in there? If it's a single, small piece, you could try compressed air to blow it back out. Or you could stuff paper towel in front of the rod journal and then rotate the crank around, using the paper towel to wipe the bottom of the case out (this works well when you get water in the engine too).

Loose gasket material in engine
Well, dang, I pretty much already knew I'd be tearing it down. I figured out there was an issue after I rode the bike a little and something felt funny. I'll look again but I'm pretty sure it got in the crank area. The bike has been sitting for a while as I've got other bikes to ride. I'll get on it after I finish up a suspension project on another bike.
Thanks all!
