Stock muffler weep hole and air bleed through fork

Hi guys. I just picked up a 2001 kdx 220. My first kdx and going over it. There seems to be a lot of oil/carbon deposit in the stock muffler. I warmed the bike up and tapped the muffler. A lot of oil dripped out of the weep hole. Is this normal? What is a way to clean it?.

Also when i push down on the forks. Air escapes out of the left bleeder valve. How to fix this ?
Thanks

The air bleeder is fixed. Was just some dirt keeping it from springing up.

Welcome to the forums. I suggest you buy a service manual. I think it will be the best money you can spend on the bike.

Open drain bolt and start engine. LOTS of rags or paper towels to catch the mess.

Yes, normal for a 2T that hasn't had the jetting played with. As Jason said, lots of towels...its an oily, sticky mess.
Congrats on the new bike. The fork bleeders aren't stock btw.
Service manual and a torque wrench, two indispensable tools.

If you have dirt in those bleaders, you might want to consider servicing those pretty quick. Also check to see if you have the stock piston. Stock 220 pistons have an extremely high failure rate and when they fail it's all bad news from there.

Thanks lads. Yes i am waiting to get a service manual. I will probably get heavier springs for the forks. No its not the stock piston. Its has a wiseco. Im hoping to get a rev oipe and new reeds in the near future as that stock pipe is really restrictive.
