Idle speed screw has little effect

So, new to me bike, I have gone through and changed al the fluids and done a bunch of odds and ends to get it ready to ride, my road is no longer snow covered so I ripped it around a bit today and found that when its warmed up the idle is quite low, and screwing the idle speed screw all the way in has little effect on it.

I then closed the petcock to run the fuel out of the carb and winthin a few seconds of closing the petcock the idle rose notably, opening the petcock and blipping the throttle brought the idle back down to the too low level again and closing the petcock brought the idle back up to too high.

I think this means the float level is wrong or the float needle is not sealing as well as it should so the fuel level is too high, does that sound right?

I did remove the carb and fully clean and reassemble it, the float needle was in perfect condition, and the float height was very close to correct, i did give it the tiniest adjustment so it's now right in the middle of the specified range.

Thoughts?

I kinda though I should buy the rebuild kit for the carb, guess I'll order that up now.

Hmmm, looks like the jet block oring doesn't come with the rebuild kit, sold separately, guess I'll need to disassemble the carb again to confirm which one I need. This may be it, but...

That is it. It says genuine Keihin part. That place has nice pictures.

You might be able to find the same from a USA seller though.

Thanks for the confirmation. I just ordered it from Jets R Us, along with another needle.

If you don't mind me asking, how much was it, and how much was shipping?

$4.61 I think, I got another needle too, $6.51 I think, with shipping the total was ~$18, shipping was $7.99 IIRC.

A new jet block o-ring has the bike idling great and the idle speed screw does what it is supposed to do. There was brown crud around the old jet block o-ring, took a fair bit of carb cleaner to soften it so I could brush it off.

The safety torx is a T20 in case anyone is wondering.

Here is a link to the jet block o-ring I used,

Thanks for the help guys!
