weather temperature and top end break in

Post by bws2 »

I've just done a top end rebuild on my '01 KDX200.

I haven't started it yet for break in and wondered if I need to wait for the weather
to be at least a certain temperature before I do that.

I live in western Washington state and the high temperatures have been from 45-50 degrees.

I'm running the stock jetting right now (160 main; 48 pilot)

I think the weather will not be an issue at all.

Yeah, you're dealing in the 200°+ range, so whether it's 45 or 90 out shouldn't matter a ton.

Not an issue for break in. The harder part is just finding a place to ride with some varied terrain that isn't going to leave you soaking wet around here.....the answer is there is no place like that in W.WA in the spring! Haul it up to Tahuya, nice mix of trails and fire roads so you can vary speed and load during the break in, and a nice concrete, flat parking area to do the break in inspections before and after.

Looks like we might get a break in the weather on Sunday, if so I'm going to take the bike out and break it in.

Haven't ridden since October!

Awesome, I'm heading over to my Dad's in Mattawa this weekend and we're going to hit up the first poker run of the season in Vantage.
