new seat cover install?

I got a new seat cover from Ceet and was going to have a local upholstery shop install it but I found out they went out of business. I tried calling Ceet to ask a question and their phone isn't working. I see on their website they charge $35 for installs but with shipping it might get expensive and I cant get ahold of them anyway. So I was thinking maybe I could just try to do it myself but I have no clue what kind of stapler I need and what kind and what size staples I need to use. I am a little iffy on doing it myself but hear people say its not hard to do.

I have seen YouTube videos for seat cover installation, so you might do an online search.

I tried both a conventional staple gun and an electric stapler, but they didn't work for me. Advice is to use a pneumatic stapler. In the end, I had a local upholstery shop that specialized in boat work do it for me. They used both glue and staples. Cost more than I thought it should have, but it did get done.

I've done them. A pneumatic stapler is the only way to do it. it's pretty dang easy. Start from the ends at center and work your way around.

Pneumatic stapler and 3/16 staples when I did mine. Bought the stapler cheap at Harbor Freight. I also used spray glue, and used the glue to hold the material in position as I worked around the seat. Wasn't hard. Watch a bunch of youtube videos and learn a new skill.

I also used the pneumatic stapler from harbor freight. It's not hard to do, it is helpful if you have an extra set of hands to keep it tight while you staple.

Harbor Freight pneumatic stapler for me as well.
I have done several with no issues.
Make sure that the cover is warm before you install it.

Thanks for the advice! I will do some more searching before I make my decision. I am going to break in the new top end this weekend so it won't be until next week anyway.

With some skills you don't need a $$$ pneumatic stapler... Except if you're planning to change 10 seat covers per day

Made with one of the cheapest stapler non-pneumatic found at DIY store + a few Youtube video :supz: The KDX seat base plastic is not so hard...

biggest trick is to make sure the staples you use are not too long or it will make for an uncomfortable ride

I have also installed seat covers with a hand operated staple gun and had a sore hand to show for it. It can also be awkward to get them in a few locations.
For the extra $10 to $20, I prefer to let the tool do the work. It may not be worth the extra price if you are only doing one, but the tool can be used for other things as well.
My Motto: work smarter not harder.

Your cover looks great though.

Thanks for the reports of use of the Harbor Freight pneumatic stapler. It reminds me of the garagejournal.com Harbor Freight pass/ fail thread.

I have read a few threads over the years with people recommending to go with an air stapler.

Pneumatic stapler only $18, I doubt the local servo would appreciate me plugging it in to their compressor to use it.
