Where can I find maximum spring lengths?

Post by Willbilly »

I have a 2002 Kdx 220 and am replacing all linkage bearings and having shock rebuilt. To complete the package I will replace spring if necessary. Where can I find spring tolerances information?

Maximum?

It will shorten as it wears. Minimum length is given.

You may need to get the info from a service manual. I don't have mine handy to look it up

You are correct, minimum. I bought the manual this site recommends. It does not say minimum acceptable length for the rear spring.

Do you have any other suggestions?

Can someone please look in his service manual and post up what it says? I don't have mine worth me. I am out of town. Thanks.

Thank you. I have put a lot of effort into trying to find this information with no luck. My next step is to call Kawasaki once the local dealer opens for business.

Okay thanks. Disappointing that the Cyclepedia manual does not share that information. As much as I love that manual so far I found it does not include a few details like this.
