I dunno if it would fit or not but it seems that it would be easier to swap the engine than to try and find a top bearing for the KDX frame to fit the KX forks?? anyone offer any help / ideas

I dont think so. You would need to ream the KDX cases to accept the 17mm KX swingarm bolt. You would need to remove at least 2 (but probably all 4) of the KX engine mounts and weld in new ones to fit the KDX engine. The air box/ boot might need some work and you might have a little rewiring to do. And it is just my personal opinion, but the end result would look funny because you would have a smaller engine in a frame meant for a larger engine.

There might be some other issues but that is what initially came to mind.

That would involve less part searching and buying but a fork swap is so much easier. Acquire parts, swap steering stem and reassemble with RB bushing and KX front end.

Thanks Guys I have everything that I would need for the Fork swap I didnt know that you would have to have the pin pressed out. I just knew that the neck and bearing race on the KDX frame was smaller than the KX. I figured as alot of people did at first that you could Find a bearing....lol. My question is this the pin that is in the KDX tripple clamp looks smaller than that of the KX will it fit in the bottom KX clamp? even then is the conversion worth the time and effort?

Ok I see that the Pins look as if that they are the same size...Who usually has the equipment to change the pins???????

Are you talking about the steering stem?

A machine shop can remove the stems. They can check diameters, too.

Thank you Sir from what I can tell I have a 2001 KX 250 so the forks will be coming off that bike it should work. I and going to remove the clamps today and hopefully get them over to a machine shop tomorrow. I like the looks of the forks I hope they perform better than the 95 stock ones, and is worth the trouble....Love the KDX tho should be a awesome upgrade. Thank you Guys for all ur help I will upload some pics when I get it finished

Just let them know to press the stems down. There is a checkup in there
