Recommend small bottles to carry 2 stroke oil

Post by El Gran Jamon »

?
I have a plated 1990 kdx, and want to carry a little oil maybe 8 ounces or so for 2 gal of gas or so picked up at a gas station on route. Preferably with 2 ounce markings? Something leakproof, break proof..

Thoughts? The 2 stroke bottle the oil comes I is bulky and not leak proof.

Thanks

i use small water bottles
350 CC i believe
with my oversized tank, one bottle and a 3 gallon fill up, that mixes pretty close to 40-1

Although I've not used it yet, I prepared one of those taller, skinny, clear flavored-water bottles that I carefully marked in half-ounce increments and number of gallons for my 40:1 ratio.

I use a small 4 oz Nalgene bottle.

(rectangular one with the green cap in the top row)

Thanks,
Where do you find the small Nalgene bottles? Tough, tight seal?

I bought this pack of them (using the rest for non-motorcycle stuff). There are three 4 oz bottles in it, the rectangle and 2 round ones, plus some smaller ones.

I haven't had any issues with them. Two of them have had oil in them for about 6 months and are rolling around the back of my car or in my trail kit and haven't leaked a drop. The rectangular one does feel more stout than the round ones though.

I used 80ml Listerine bottles for 2-stroke oil and now always carry two for my four stroke. Very good caps and they're made of robust plastic so no fear of leaking. What I did was use a syringe (or measuring cup) and marked out some increments with a sharpy.

I like to use the small bottles of chainsaw oil. Husky and Stihl both sell them in six packs. They come filled with premium oil that is ok to use, but I usually burn that in my saws and refill them with my bike oil. 1 bottle mixes 1 gallon at 50:1. It just so happens that 50:1 is also what I run in my bike so it's real easy. They fit nicely in the tool bag!
