What do these collars do and do I need to replace mine.

Post by LKNBigFish »

I was cleaning my KIPS stuff with oven cleaner and did not realize these little collars were aluminum. The oven cleaner messed them up a little, but I am not sure if they are bad enough warrant replacing. Its an 01 KDX220. They have some imperfections but are still in pretty good shape, what does this part do and will it cause problems if they are not perfect?

The collars ar part 92143 on this diagram-- http://www.kawasakipartshouse.com/oempa ... d-cylinder

clean them up with some scotch brite, they should be fine. They are the bushings for the exhaust valves so as long as the valve's end doesn't bind in it you're good.
