well my friend is looking for a new bike, he has about $500 and wants something he can fix up. This bike doesnt look that bad, does it seem worth it to you all? I think the guy lives only like 1 hour away from us. With this bike he could probably keep up with me right??

With THAT bike he will probably beat ya!

Check with the seller what needs to be done to the top end, it may require machining and plating ($$$) in addition to a top end kit (piston, gaskets, etc.)

Depending on what the seller says for the top end requirements i'd snap it up for under $500.

>>1994 kdx 200. First and foremost, the bike is not running. It needs a new top end ( piston and .020 over bore ).

I have a Pro-X #4312 .020" overbore piston for an '86 and up KDX200 sitting on my shelf, brand-new, unused. If you can use it, it's yours.

Screw the friend. Grab that bike for yourself, fix it up and sell it back to him for a profit. Heck, that's what friends are for, right?

Seriously, seems to be a good deal if the things like wheel bearings, tranny, clutch, etc, are all in good shape. Only an hour away? Go see it first. It is worth the drive to be sure in your own mind.

Piston, rings, wrist pin. NO circlips, NO wrist pin bearing.

I paid $50 for it on ebay about 3 years ago, only to find out that it was mis-advertised. I seriously doubt I'll ever be able to use it and I've already tried ebaying it twice w/out success. You could send me $40 if you wanted, but I'd also be happy to just GIVE you thing if it helps the bike deal. Whichever works for you and your budget. I just want to make sure that it does indeed fit in your budget because I'm a little tired of it sitting around here.

hello again, well i just talked to the guy on the phone. The bike seems like a really good deal. Needs only a few small parts. I was just wondering how much it costs to have a cylinder bored out, thanks.

Have a look at Eric Gorrs website possibly for some pricing info.

You may have better luck browsing ebay to buy a new cyclinder. I saw one listed for $250 brand new a few weeks ago. If you get it rebored and plated expect to pay much more than that.

it doesnt need plating, just boring

well i called up my local shop, only $50 for boreing it out. Sounds good to me. I figure if he puts $200-$250 into the bike it will be great.

The cylinder needs to be replated after its bored out.

Here is one:

$150.00 as of right now, one day left. Brand-spankin-new!

Got to like those spelling mistakes in auctions, sometimes it can get you a pretty mean deal.

if he had $150 to spend on it, im sure he would get it but he doesnt have the much money.
