With a full tank how long can this bike go before needing reserve? I realize the results will vary. Love to hear many reports as I am sure you guys are a great test bed.

I generally run between 75 and 90 km to reserve on hard single trail with several very steep hill climbs. Most of this is in 3rd-4th gear with around 20 km of gravel road, 6th gear 100-110 kph. The longest ride was 140km during which I put my reserve supply (1 litre bottle) of fuel in. I had to switch over to reserve and at the end of the ride drained 360ml of fuel, so a full tank on mine will comfortably do 125km.

Glad you posted this as we're riding a 108 mile turkey run this next weekend and am thinking about fueling strategy.

How much gas does the stock tank on an 06 hold ? My service manual doesn't even list it ?

You need to test your bike's dual range, they vary wildly from bike to bike, jetting to jetting, to end condition etc

Put one gallon in it and go ride like you normally would, clock the miles. The tank is 2.9 gallons with .9 in reserve if no one has messed with it.

I get 31mpg, but have seen 19mpg, so find out for yours

Stock tank holds around 11 litres. Reserve will be around 2.8. For a ride that long, I would carry an extra 3 litres of fuel plus a 30ml bottle in case I had to borrow a litre of a mate with a 4 stroke. Will depend on terrain and how often you fall off and leak some of course lol

Ran 100 miles on 3 gallons of fuel @32:1 :)
