Repairing KIPS advancer lever....does this look correct?

Post by Davenay67 »

So, as the thread title says, I am rebuilding my KIPS system because the PO let it break and never bothered to repair it. Essentially, it looks as though a bolt backed out of the main KIPs valve on the cylinder and jammed the KIPS rod that activates the 2 side valves. This in turn, I suspect, caused the advance lever pin to break inside the right engine cover.

So I have repaired the stripped thread and put everything back together in the cylinder head. Nice and free-moving once again. Havinf replaced the broken advancer pin, I am now ready to put the right side cases back on the engine. Before I go any further I want to get opinions on whether this looks correct. To me it seems as though the advancer pin should go more into the slot, but maybe this is how it is supposed to be?
