I got this 01 KDX220 a few weeks ago and since I've worked out most of the tuning I decided to change the transmission oil. I pulled the plug in the bottom and this weird oil came out. It had a real light blue color to it and it seemed thinner than most oil. It didn't even smell like regular oil. Whatever it was it wasn't dark in color at all. Very clear with the light blue tint. What could this be?

Re: Transmission Oil
Maybe the previous owner ran "2-stroke" oil in the transmission!!!

Re: Transmission Oil
Could be Royal Purple Transmission fluid, or gear oil. There are lots of tranny fluids and gear oils that come in blue.

Re: Transmission Oil
That'd make sense. It didn't have any problems shifting or anything and didn't make excess noise so I assume whatever it was it was fine being in there. Anyways thanks for the inputs!

Re: Transmission Oil
Run it long enough and it will get a gray tinge to it.
