KDX220 Clutch Arm replacement

Hi There,
For a 2002 KDX220 R... what other model/year/part number of a clutch rod/arm will fit in perfectly as a replacement?

I already tried a 1989 KX250 (or so KLX250 ?) I believe... it does not goes all the way till the bottom of the groove, so it brakes and doesn't work.

I'd appreciate a cross-reference part that has a longer lever to attache the clutch cable on but that is 100% proven it will work as original in the inside. I'm aware of cutting-welding, etc to extend the arm... but would like to try first a replacement if possible.

Thanks !

Ricarvar

Do a search on here. I have seen reference to different length arms that fit.

yea, me too. I think you need a 125 arm, rather than a 250... or find a stock replacement on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Clutch-Rod-Arm- ... Go&vxp=mtr

i checked Ron Ayers, looks like any arm off a 1995 and up KDX 200 or 220 will work for ya

Thanks canamfan and Tyl3r !
Do you know whether that rod-arm from thelink has a larger lever?... the stock one is about 10 mm (1 cm) from the rod-axle to the pivot end where the latch piece goes...

I did a quick search and found someone had used a 89 kx 125 clutch arm it's 5mm longer. May be others that work too.

The one in the link is a stock replacement, it isn't any longer. I don't have a measurement for you. I could take one when I get home though if you want.

I found the same that canamfan did when I searched

I believe the arm/rod off a 1989 kx 125 is longer than the kdx item & will fit .

Jeff fredette also recommends cutting & welding on an extension onto the OE kdx arm for a more easy pull, I've seen some pics of it somewhere online .

I already tried the 89 kx125 and although the lever is larger by 5mm, it is not long enough inside the clutch and it broke once pulling the lever to actuate it... bummer...

I'll check the 92 kx 125 though...by the way, is there any website that shows the geometry of parts to compare them before buying?

And thank you guys !... keep it up!
