Front wheel bearings

Post by Mnmonster »

I replaced my front wheel bearings tonight and noticed I did not have a dust seal, or whatever it's technical name is, on the right side bearing. The new bearings I bought came with two seals. Is there supposed to be a seal on the right side? I tried to fit it on there and it didn't seem right so I put it back together without. Probably a stupid question but, just thought I'd ask.

Front wheel bearings

On the stock KDX wheel, the dust seal is on the speed sensor on the right side.... there's an o-ring seal type thing on the inside of the speed sensor that seals it at the wheel. Before I did the fork swap, I would always fill that whole speed sensor on the inside with some good waterproof grease

Those wheel bearing kits fit multiple bikes, so some will use both seals and some won't

Great. I did pack the speed sensor with grease. Good to know, thank you.
