99 kdx fuel line and clamps?

I have a 99 kdx that wasn't running right. Cleaned the carb out and pulled the fuel line and noticed the fuel line was decaying a bit on the inside. Thought that could be the problem. Saw on here to use 1/4" line but it appears the previous owner used 3/16 black automotive or something else. It has run fine the 4 years I have had it. Put it back together with the 1/4 inch black line from an auto store and pinch on clamps, which it had before. Good news is it ran great but it was leaking fuel bad from the line ends. Do I need a different line? 3/16 line or just keep the 1/4" line and use screw tighten hose clamps? Or do I need something else, bike specific clear line? Thanks

I would use smaller line if it's leaking. Tring to crush to big a line is just asking for trouble. I run no clamp on mine, just a small zip tie and it has never leaked.

Small engine shops usually have a variety of fuel line to choose from.

You might also try marine places for fuel lines.

Any bike shop will have clear fuel line. Not cheap and sold by the foot but it will last forever.

I just did mine. 6mm fitting on tank and 1/4" on carb. Use 6mm fuel line, the non reinforced stuff works better.
