What do you all do after your bike has been sitting for a couple months? I drained all the gas, motor oil, and spark arrestor goop. I also cleaned and rebuilt the carb. Anything else I should look at or clean/replace while I'm at it?

Re: Regular Maintenance?
Grease the stem bearings, if you want to dive in real far, grease the linkage bearings.

Regular Maintenance?
Wheel bearings and brake pads are also frequently neglected.

I replaced those right before I stowed it for the season. Thanks, though!pumpguy wrote:Wheel bearings and brake pads are also frequently neglected.

Re: Regular Maintenance?
After my KDX sits for a couple months I usually roll it out of the garage, turn on the fuel, kick it over once - maybe twice, and go for a ride...
A couple years would probably be a different procedure involving grease, bearings and brake pads, etc...

Re: Regular Maintenance?
Yep! I've already ridden it once or twice after it sat for the winter. Overflow issue :(, so I'm still rebuilding the carb and adjusting floats. Hopefully that fixes it and that's the only issue I am aware of.K50X200 wrote:After my KDX sits for a couple months I usually roll it out of the garage, turn on the fuel, kick it over once - maybe twice, and go for a ride...
