Where to get oil plug drain GASKET for cheap?

Post by 19Delta »

Seems simple enough to me, but heck if I can find these cheap online anywhere in the states. I'm looking at this schematic: http://www.cyclepartsnation.com/oempart ... /crankcase

Part number 92065-058. They are only a few dollars (or more) each on any site, but shipping is always $7-10! I see other sizes on ebay and amazon where they are selling a 10 pack for $10 SHIPPED!

I have two kdx's that are in need, and would like a few spares, so a 10 pack makes sense. I would happily buy as few as 4 if they could just toss em in an envelope and charge me a $1 shipping.

Anybody find the magical source?

I looked the other day. Carquest brand seemed close in size, but they did not have them in a local Advance, just had to order them.

Same here with Napa auto parts, they had similar in their book, but had to order. I left there assuming I would just order online.

How hard can it be to find a couple copper washers? Geez..... :hmm:

Mine appears to be aluminum, no copper. BTW, stop throwing away your used copper washers. Anneal them by heating to blue with a torch. Annealed they can be reused. Do this all the time with copper spark plug washers for aircraft

My local bike shop keeps a bin full of all different sizes of aluminum crush washers. I just go in and say "gimme a 12mm crush washer" and they sell me one for a buck or something.
12mm is just an example, though. I don't remember the size of the KDX washer right now.

Now that you say that, I think mine is aluminum!

Score! Found 10mm aluminum crush washer's on eBay. 10 washer's for $5 shipped! They are 17mm O.D, and it doesn't say thickness, but I can't see why these won't work. They are for a Ducati! Maybe I'll get a Ducati decal! :-)
