125 KDX spokes

Post by vrum »

I am going to replace all the spokes on my '92 125 KDX which has 21" front wheel and 18" rear wheel. Are all the 36 spokes identical on both wheels or are there separate inner and outer spokes like on some other bikes? Can I use the spokes of some other bike? It seems that KDX spokes are again very hard to find at least for a sensible price.

125 KDX spokes

They are 190 mm rear and 228 mm front. Trying to find replacements just by that knowledge is like finding a needle in the haystack even if you had all the spokes in the world on your hand. Everyone seem to have spokes for sale only by bike names and don't tell the lenght. Do someone know if 125 KX spokes would fit?

Where are you searching? You obviously found the length.

Are you wanting Chinese / Taiwanese spokes or are you OK with Excel?

I live in Finland. I think the front ones should be between 225-230 mm and the rear ones something between 190-195 mm. Cheap Chinese spoke would be just ok for my needs.

Excel makes kits. Maybe Tusk or someone makes a kit.

125 KDX spokes

Have you tried contacting Buchanan's Spoke & Rim in Azusa, California?

They have information on spoke requirements for literally tons of bikes.

Along with their quote, see if they will provide details of actual spokes required for your wheels.
