Hi Folks,

This bike is advertised as a 2002. What do you all think?

I think most would be hard-pressed to convincingly identify the year based on those pictures, given that all years of KDX220 are the same.

The fact that they're all the same is also why, at least from a buyer's standpoint, it really doesn't matter what year it is so much as the general condition.

The shroud graphics indicate a 2001 or newer. He say's it's an 02, I'd gather he is close.

Since it has the purple toolbag, seat cover and fork boots, I would say 1997 or 1998, whichever year had those.

The graphics may be the 2002 OEM style Factory Effex graphics. I have seen a fair amount of those on various year bikes.

(I can see people adding the seat or fender bag, but pulling the forks to swap on purple boots? doubtfull)

if I were interested in this bike, I would ask the seller to tell me the 10th digit of the VIN
that will settle it

The seat cover appears aftermarket (2-tone). Based on those pictures, I couldn't even positively identify the color of the fork boots nor tool bag.

Looks like 96ish the Vin will tell all.

Hey Folks, I emailed the fellow and asked for the Vin. What in the Vin will tell me the year?

This is the one year listed so far that I am 100% sure that a KDX220 will not be, regardless of the color of tool bag.

that is IF it is indeed a 220, and not a 200
looks like the seller doesn't even know English, so I'm not sure if I would trust him to know what he's selling
are we sure it isn't a KTM ?

My french buddy emailed him for me. Surprise surprise no ownership and no response to my request for the VIN. My buddy said it sounded like a bike that had the cr@p kicked out of it that buddy spruced up a bit and is trying to sell it as something it isn't. So, the result is my search continues. Thanks for all of the responses folks.
