97 KDX 220 Sprocket

Hello Fellow KDX'ers. I was wanting to ask if my stock bike with the stock 13/47 sprocket, will be able to upgrade to a 13/48 Renthal sprocket without me having to change anything. Thanks.

48 will fit fine but won't gain you much. A 49-50 rear is what many run.

I just put that on my bike. No difference from the 47

i would go taller, 14 / 47 is really nice for both tight woods and dualsport kind of rides. i connect trails with short (10-20miles) street sections though, so if you're all dirty you may not need the taller gearing.

i like the taller gearing because it means 1st gear can be used on faster hillclimbs. :)
