125 KDX power valves

Post by vrum »

My '92 125 KDX has the cylinder barrel from a '88 125 KX which unfortunately has broken power valves. KX power valves seem to be totally N.A. nowadays so can KDX valves be adapted to work in a KX barrel? For some reason you can buy new KDX valves but not KX valves. They have different part numbers so they are not the same thing but are they close enough so that some minor adaptation work would be a solution?

Your in luck. Go to Rocky Mountain ATV and go to the OEM page. Type your bike in and choose the cylinder head/ cylinder SCHEMATIC. It will show everything you need.

It looks like BDK race engineering makes aftermarket steel subvalves for 1988 KX125 cylinders:

Those repro valves are way too expensive for me. Does anyone know if 125 KDX or 125 KMX valves would work with KX cylinder? They seem to be available and for a reasonable price.
